Early Career Network

EPICOH has recently established a dedicated network to promote networking, research and career development of early career researchers in the field of occupational health and epidemiology. The group is targeted toward all students and researchers with fewer than 5 years of experience (from their terminal degree) in the field of occupational epidemiology or other related disciplines. Group activities are open to all researchers in the field irrespective of their experience and career stage.

For EPICOH 2017, an early career network (ECN) organising committee has been established with the aims of 1) to facilitate conference activities specifically targeted for early career scientists and 2) to promote the ECN and assist in ensuring its long-term sustainability.

The network has a dedicated group webpage in LinkedIn where announcements, discussions and updates in relation to developments both within the network and the conference program are shared.

They key conference contributions and meetings for the ECN are as follows:-

Early Career Network (ECN) activities

During the conference students and Early Career Researchers will have the opportunity to participate in several events specifically targeted for them. Activities will be distributed throughout the conference program and will include workshops, breakfast sessions, and social and networking events. The detailed programme is currently under development with input from members of the ECN group. More information on the ECN events will be available nearer to the conference.

Sessions co-chairing

Students and early career researchers will have the opportunity to co-chair together with a senior researcher sessions on topics relevant to their specialisations/interests. Participation on the scheme will take place on a voluntarily basis and everyone interested in participating should contact the ECN committee directly  expressing their interest and providing details regarding their name, institute, email, and area of expertise/interest in the field of occupational health and epidemiology.

Early Career Network Meeting

A dedicated meeting will be arranged during the regular conference program to discuss the structure, activities and future of the EPICOH ECN group. Everyone interested is invited to attend the meeting to help plan future activities and events.
